Zolgear (ゾルギア Zorugia) is a large creature that made its first appearance in Attack of the Zolgear and is the main antagonist of the game. Zolgear was in a long slumber in the crater on the moon Zol, an important diplomatic space port for intergalactic relationships. However, the unstable gravity caused trouble for spaceships travelling to and from Zol. A gravitational quirk was uncovered by repeated investigations to find the cause in the crater's center. The found cause turned out to be Zolgear. Zolgear will then emerge from the crater's center, becoming a threat to humanity in the process. Due to its large size, Zol's local defense force were crushed mercilessly. The structures of Zol was also destroyed by Zolgear which used its gravitational organ to leap into space, making its way towards the United Galaxy's space colony, Exia, which was in the terraforming phase during the beginning of the First Space Pioneer era. This causes the United Galaxy Space Force to send out the Dragoon J-2 to defeat it. During the battle, two Cronus battleships, like the Dragoon J-2, engaged Zolgear only for Cronus 2 to be destroyed. The strategy, nonetheless, succeeded, liberating Exia from the large creature.
Zolgear appears in Bounty Hounds but shrunk down to the size of an adult man. It appears again in Star Ixiom as a boss in Command Mode when a player clears 10, 20, and 30 levels. Its latest appearance is in the cancelled game New Space Order, as a unit that will cause the opponent's planet to be destroyed once placed.

- Zolgear was used in New Space Order by Sacred Religious State (Celestia Tian Farous) as "Divine Punishment Fort (神罰要塞「しんばつようさい」)."
- On Twitter, Hisaharu Tago disclosed the information that the Zolgear (Divine Punishment Fortress) of the Sacred Religious State is named, "Farous Addor Guileness,"[1] which is a living weapon type of Addor Guileness.[2] He also states that all adult Zolgears are Farous Addor Guileness, not baby Zolgears.[1]
