Star Ixiom (スター・イクシオン) is a 3D space-shooting game that inherits the game designs from the highly-rated Famicom game, Star Luster. It features the original game designs, such as map mode where the player prepares for the enemy space fleets, and combat mode where the player is placed into the cockpit to face the enemy forces. New spacefighters and weapons were introduced to the game, bringing more deep, epic space battles to the game. This game also has a new feature where the player can choose iconic UGSF spacefighters, such as Galaxip, GeoSword, and the Dragoon.[1] The game was released on September 9, 1999 only on the Playstation console.[2]
Strangereal-Galaxian Timeline[]
In 359 A.G. (After Galactic), 52 years after Star Luster, the Galaxians discovered that the United Galaxy was weakened from Operation: Star Luster. With this, a full-scale invasion by the UIMS Ω (Unknown Intellectual Mechanized Species Omega), Galaga, Battura, Bosconian, and Sadeen was commenced. To counter this unprecidented crisis, the UGSF initiated "Operation: Star Ixiom," in which all of their past and present fighters are brought together to face this impending threat.[1]
Operation: Star Ixiom succeeded as the UGSF destroyed the mobile planet of each extraterrestrial threat. Unfortunately, the many threats facing the UGSF dispersed from the frontlines and infiltrated the United Galaxy's star system, destroying 1/3rd of the UG's star system in the process. The UIMS then invaded and conquer planet Earth, forcing the United Galaxy to move their capital planet from Earth to Gaia, fourth planet within the Cosmo-Lagoon system.[1]
In 389 A.G., a clan of Bosconians that were weakened by Operation: Star Ixiom establish a nation called, "Bosconia." Afterwards, leader of Bosconia surrendered to the Galaxians and Bosconia became a part of the United Galaxy.[1]
Trivia[]
- The protagonist of Star Ixiom is Roy Heinick, a descendant of Dan Heinick (protagonist of Star Luster).
