The player plays as a member of the mercenary group, "Bounty Hounds," to face the Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (ETI) using a variety of weapons. The exciting battle action scenes provided players with a sense of exhilaration through use of over 500 weapons and armor to defeat swarms of enemies. Strangereal-Galaxian Timeline[]

In the year 2298 A.D. (198 A.G.), during the Second Space Pioneer Era, continued attacks by extraterrestrial intelligent lifeforms left many planets in ruins. To restore the battle planets of the United Galaxy, General Resource Limited  established an intergalactic band of mercenaries, the "Bounty Hounds," which were deployed to destroy any remaining alien threats. Eight planets under the Galaxian Star System are set with an interstellar computer called, the "FEDCOM," which they put to use. One day, a mercenary assigned to the Bounty Hounds is dragged into the conspiracies between General Resource Limited and Neucom Incorporated, two megacorporations that have been in conflict before the age of space pioneering[1]. During these events, the Bounty Hounds discovered a new lifeform at the time known to them as the "Baby Zolgear Irrtum," of the Zolgear Exlies. One of them would eventually reach Exia and begin its assault on the planet , forcing the UGSF to deploy Dragoon J2 .

Trivia[]

  • The concept art of Bounty Hounds is done by Syd Mead, known for memorable works such as Alien 2, Blade Runner, Tron, 2010: The Year We Make Contact, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
  • Despite the timeline establishing that the game is set before Attack of the Zolgear, one cutscene in the middle of the second act shows evidently that the game is actually set after the aforementioned game, since the creature materialized on one of the second in-game planets.
