Galaxian 3: Attack of the Zolgear (ギャラクシアン3 アタック・オブ・ゾルギア) is a 3DCG shooter featuring multiplayer co-op play. The game featured an original scenario, Attack of the Zolgear. With the concept of allowing set-up in arcades, the original theme park attraction, Galaxian 3, was scaled down in size and named, "Galaxian 3 - Theater 6." Despite the decrease in the game's scale size, it was still very large with its large screen projector that allowed 6 player co-op gameplay. With how could players could now play a Galaxian 3 game outside of theme parks, the game became a beacon to bring new fans into the series. Attack of the Zolgear was released only in the arcades on July 1994 as the game did not receive any port unlike Project Dragoon.

Strangereal-Galaxian Timeline

In 2311 AD (211 A.G.), a space lifeform known as "Zolgear" arrives on the planet Exia, which was going through terraforming since the beginning of the First Space Pioneer Era. Unlike the 2298 (198 A.G.) initial discovery of the baby Zolgear Irrtum by the Bounty Hounds, the Zolgear of Exia was much larger and it lands near the environmental control center where it begins its assault. To face this threat, the UGSF Special Attack Team is deployed on board the tactical spacefighter, the "Dragoon J2," which was more powerful than the original Dragoon. Within the same year, the Dragoon J2 defeated the Zolgear and liberated Exia. Five years later, the Bussard-Ramjet Drive Dragoon was retired from action which causes the Galaxians to lose their initial means of long distance strikes.

• Zolgear makes a first canonical appearance in the PSP game, Bounty Hounds.
• Zolgear makes an appearance as the Command mode boss in Star Ixiom.
• In New Space Order, the interstellar nation named Sacred Religious State (Celestia tian Farous) uses the Zolgear as the Divine Punishment Fortress. There is also a shipbuilding dock for their Zolgear called "Birth Place of Divine Punishment Fortress."
• On Twitter, UGSF Founder Hisaharu Tago (also known as Enthu-T) stated that Zolgear is the Addor Guileness, literally meaning "Perfect Occupy" in the Xevi language (commonly referred to as Andor Genesis) of Farous, and that it was created by the ancient Farous civilization. As of now, it is the only Large Bioweapon to be given such a title.
